Overview:
Disdero Lumber Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of Tumac Lumber Company, was founded in 1953 as a wholesale distributor of specialty wood products and clear, vertical grain Douglas fir. We have expanded our product line to include Western Red Cedar, Hemlock, Ponderosa Pine, Southern Yellow Pine, Alaskan Yellow Cedar, Port Orford Cedar, Incense Cedar, Idaho White Pine, Mahogany Decking, Hardwood, Specialty Panel Products, Plywood, MDF Products and Lock Deck™.
Located in Clackamas, Oregon, we service Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Wyoming, Northern California, Utah, Northwest Nevada, Colorado, Alaska and Hawaii. Nationwide service is available on LTL and full truck load basis via common carrier.
We service lumberyards, cabinet shops, manufacturers, industrial accounts, and certain other retail business. We do not sell to contractors or the general public on a direct basis, but we will be happy to work with you through one of our distributors. Lock-Deck™
|
A structurally engineered product of two to five kiln-dried lumber laminations bonded together with an exterior waterproof adhesive to form glue-laminated decking. The decking is used for ceilings and roofs, as well as for balconies, mezzanines and floors.
Lock-Deck™ is commonly used in Heavy Timber construction as well as wood frame and hybrid systems.
Random length and long length (fingerjointed) decking, plus a variety of face patterns, textures and finishes.

Disdero's #1&Btr Timbers are FOHC selected for appearance and kiln dried to 19% or less 1" from all surfaces.
Rough green timbers go into the dry kilns full sawn. There will be some shrinkage during the process, usually 1/16" - 1/8" in thickness and 1/8" - 1/4" om width. ( this may vary slightly). Timbers come out with a suntan appearance and can have a faded mark where kiln sticks were placed.
Our timbers are dried with state of the art conventional kilns utilizing a computer controlled low pressure steam system or microwave - Radio Frequency Vacuum (RFV).
Green vs. Kiln Dried Timbers - We feel there isn't any comparison. Not only is a green timber much heavier than a KD Timber, it will check far more severely after installation. Green timbers may develop mold problems, warp or twist. There are also problems with stains an other finishes applied to green timbers.

Factory finishing of Lock-Deck™ assures a complete and even application. Prefinishing saves construction time, eliminates the need for scaffolding, and provides a high quality finish and professional appearance.
The standard finish is an acrylic based, semi-transparent stain available in twenty colors. The color will vary depending upon the species of wood selected. Request an actual wood sample on species of choice for final color approval. A clear matte sealer or clear semi-gloss finish is also available for a natural finish.
