PermaCast
|
Round or square, PermaCast columns are cast from a proprietary fiber-reinforced polymer composite with exceptional strength-to-weight characteristics and requiring minimum maintenance. They are weatherproof, insect-proof and highly durable. Capitals & Bases Tuscan style capitals as well as the five orders of ornamental capitals also follow the guidelines of Greek and Roman architects. Attic bases, copied from those of ancient Attica, are also available. Plain & Fluted PermaCast columns are available plain or fluted in the widest variety of sizes in the industry. Deep, sharp flutes and smooth, easy to finish surfaces set PermaCast apart from all other columns. Architectural Specifications All columns to be PermaCast polymer resin/glass fiber manufactured by HB&G. Capitals and bases to be HB&G polyurethane material of Tuscan style. Ornamental capitals, if specified, to be HB&G polyurethane material. Columns shall be installed in accordance with manufacturer's instructions. Lifetime Warranty HB&G warrants that for the "lifetime" of ownership the PermaCast column is free from defects in material and workmanship. "Lifetime" means as long as the purchaser owns the structure to which the PermaCast columns are attached. Upon proper installation of the column, HB&G will repair or replace, at its option, any PermaCast column that has failed as a result of defective material or workmanship of HB&G. The PermaWrap® column was designed to maintain the appearance of the elegant high-end columns while remaining competitively priced. Leading the industry in column innovation, HB&G PermaWrap® columns are made from cellular PVC and offer advantages of being unaffected by moisture and insects, but with the thickness, ease of use and workability of wood.

The HB&G PermaLite square column is the latest edition to the HB&G synthetic column family. New PermaLite columns are cost effective, load bearing, weather and insect proof, and require very little maintenance. In addition, they also come ready for paint and with the HB&G lifetime warranty.

Available in Pine or Redwood our staves are machined with a tongue and groove edge to assure accurate membering and then assembled with an exterior glue. Intense pressure from steel bands insures superior bonding. Column shafts are then turned and sanded. The entire column - shaft, cap, and base - is submerged in a preservative to increase life expectancy.
