In the open position, it is as sturdy as any fixed stair and just as easy to climb with its 52 degree pitch. This unit can handle a 1000 lb. load without failure or deformation of treads. It is constructed of one-piece siderails of 7" x .230" aluminum channel and treads of 6" x .225" aluminum channel. The Automatic Electric Stairway can be opened or closed with a simple toggle switch. The unit can be supplied with a key operated switch in areas where security is important. As with the Super Simplex, these units can be fabricated with a custom frame to accommodate dropped ceilings. Other optional equipment include a wood veneer door panel with mineral core, warning buzzer to sound when stairway is in motion, emergency manual operation to lower the unit from above and/or below.

This entire unit can then be dropped in from above, secured and flashed in for safe, comfortable roof access. The Super Simplex is so reliable you can reclaim attic space for storage purposes without the need for a permanent stairway. Many national companies are already using the Super Simplex to maximize use of attic space. FL Series Wall Ladders	FL Series	click to enlarge Precision offers a complete line of aluminum wall ladders custom fabricated to your exact field measurements. Precision's ladder treads are a full 2-1/4" in width and they are deeply serrated to maximize traction. These treads have been thoroughly tested for strength, and are able to withstand a 1000# loading without failure. Treads are attached to siderails using 4 rivets rated at 1100 lbs. shear strength each. Additionally, all edges on the siderails and treads have been rounded to provide a more comfortable, powerful grip for the hands. Safety cages are required on most ladders in excess of 20' length to a maximum unbroken length of 30' (plus rail extensions). Cages are also recommended for shorter ladders at high or hazardous locations. Precision offers this item as well as landing platforms as required by OSHA and other regulatory bodies in certain situations. Mill finish is standard. SL Series Ships Ladders	SL Series	click to enlarge The two most important features of our SL series ladders are easy installation and no maintenance. The relative weight of these units compared to a steel unit makes it a breeze to install and as with the FL series ladders, its aluminum construction also makes it virtually maintenance free. A Ships Ladder is an ideal solution for mezzanine access or, when combined with a Precision Roof Hatch, for roof access from interior of building. Some important characteristics of these ladders are: *All components shall be aluminum alloy 6005-T5 *Stringers are 5" x 2" x 3/16" aluminum channel *Treads are from the same extrusion used on our Super Simplex Disappearing Stairway, 5-3/16" x 1-1/4" x 1/8" extruded channel with deeply serrated surface to maximize traction in a 30" clear width *Handrails are 1-1/2" diameter schedule 40 pipe *Mill finish aluminum *Available in pitches from 63 degrees to 75 degrees. Precision Roof Hatches		click to enlarge All Precision Roof Hatches are fabricated of heavy gauge steel or aluminum properly finished to withstand rough handling and exposure to the elements. Insulation in the cover and curb minimizes the effects on the building's HVAC system. A rubber gasket, in its own formed track, tightly seals the lid against the curb, making the unit weathertight. The cover is devoid of all hardware except for the handle, negating areas where corrosion and rust can form. All hatches are provided with padlock provisions both internally and externally. The PLH hatch series provides the most economical means of accessing the roof from the building's interior when used with a Precision FL series ladder. The safety of the climber and ease of operation of the hatch were given attention in designing the PLH. A zinc plated cablock with a built-in inside handle is provided. Support arms found on some competitive hatches are not needed, therefore the space normally required by the arm is available to the climber. The PSRH hatch series were engineered to be compatible with the Super Simplex Disappearing Stairway and the Precision Ships Ladder, as well as other "steep" ladders. As with other Precision products, each unit is tested in the plant to assure smooth opening and closing with one hand. These units are also provided with a 1 point cablock. Metal-pan and poured-in-place concrete stairs have not been ignored by Precision. When this type of access is used, the PNRH series hatches should be used. The Super Simplex units that that require a roof deck opening of 5' 4" or longer would also use this model. Additional pressure intensifiers compensate for larger, heavier covers allowing the operation to be as easy as with a ladder hatch. Security is provided by a 2-point slam-lock.
