The face values average a square foot in size, ranging from 8” square to 24” square and 8” by 12” to 14” by 24” rectangles. Faces of the stone are natural, with split face or natural sides, tops and bottoms. The squares and recs grade will yield 30-35 square feet of coverage, per ton. The oversized version, of the very popular ledge style, is larger in scale with bed depths of 6”-8”. The face values average 8” tall and 12” wide. Elk Mountain Squares and Recs

The squares and recs grade has a bed-depth range of 3”-6”. Square and rectangular face values average a square foot in size, ranging from 8” square to a 12” by 15” rectangle. The faces of the stone are natural, with split or natural sides, tops and bottoms. Expect 35-40 square feet of coverage, per ton. A tumbled version is available, in this stone and grade and produces an excellent material for use in exterior wall veneer, large scale fireplaces, patios and pathways.

Elk Mountain Flagstone

Naturally smooth tops, large face values and an even, neutral tone make the Elk Mountain Sandstone the ideal choice for patios, pathways and foyer flooring. The surface, or face values, will vary greatly, from 2' square to 3” wide and 6' tall. Shapes are random and varied.

There are two options available, in Elk Mountain Flagstone, Select Stand Up or Flat Stacked. Select Stand Up will have larger face values than the Flat Stacked Flagstone. Select is offered in 1” or 2” thicknesses, with an average of 130 square feet and 75 square feet of coverage, per ton, respectively.
