The materials that we use to manufacture our products were created billions of years ago in distant galaxies as a result of the deaths of early stars. Woven metal is an extraordinarily efficient repurposing of these precious resources.
The manufacture of woven metal fabrics uses very little energy. The process is an entirely cold-forming one that utilizes machines with the latest variable speed technology.
Our plant is illuminated with natural daylight and energy efficient fluorescent lighting. A recycling protocol is integrated into every step of the production process. The wire we use is composed of 80-85% Post-consumer and 13-18% Pre-consumer recycled steel. Unlike other manufacturing that generates significant amounts of scrap, less than 5% of the wire we use becomes scrap and all of that scrap is recycled.
We are proud of the fact that our local recycling company, Miller Compressing, is ISO certified to 14001:2004. This guarantees that our waste metal is handled in a manner that respects the environment.
