Architectural Enhancements’ horizontal concrete overlays are polymer modified cementitious blends designed to outperform concrete. They adhere exceptionally well to existing concrete surfaces and other solid substrates. Best of all, they resist the harmful effects of UV exposure, salt and chemical infiltration, and freeze-thaw cycles.
Architectural Enhancements’ line of premium horizontal concrete overlays are used by leading contractors for smoothing uneven or spalled concrete, and for adding pattern, texture, and color to create any look imaginable over most solid substrates. They are a favorite for creating decorative concrete floors. Among the looks that can be achieved are natural stone, brick, tile, slate, or wood, although the only limitation to the design is your imagination and creativity. And because the products offer more strength than concrete, they are perfect for creating beautiful concrete floors in lobbies, atriums, patios, walkways, pool decks, balconies, and driveways.
- Tru Finish is a thin cementitious overlay that is applied as a base/bonding coat, and can be utilized as a thinly applied spray down, trowel down, or broom finish.

Architectural Enhancements’ vertical overlays are polymer modified cementitious blends designed to add texture and style in lightweight blends. They are designed to adhere exceptionally well to most solid vertical surfaces.
Architectural Enhancements’ special line of premium vertical overlays and concrete faux finish products are lighter weight, take textures beautifully, carve cleanly, and are known for their workability and ease-of-use. These premium vertical overlays are used by leading contractors for creating durable and decorative finishes including marble, stone, brick, tile and even leather - making them perfect for pillars, fireplace surrounds, restaurant and storefront entrances, exterior retaining walls, as well as interior stone, brick, tile, or slate finish walls.
- Tru Finish is an extremely thin and lightweight cementitious overlay that is applied as a base/bonding coat for other overlays. It can also be used as a thinly applied spray down finish.
- Luster/Micro is another thin cementitious overlay with an ultra-smooth surface that features varied shadowing to create the look of marble and tile.
- Vertex is an award-winning vertical overlay that is lightweight and can be built up to 4”. Vertex takes textures famously and is used to create authentic textures at a fraction of the cost.
- Tru Sculpt is a product created to meet recent demand. It is a lightweight and carvable cementitious overly that can also be built up to 4” for those deeply dimensional projects.
- Tamarillo is a faux finish designed to give the look of antique textures and colors to vertical surfaces.
- Mediterranean Finish is a thinly applied cementitious faux finish that can be applied as a spray down or trowel down finish to provide that rich look of European style finishes.

Tru Top Overlay
|
Tru Top Overlay – creates the elegance of stone countertops without the weight or cost of granite. Tru Top Overlay is designed to be overlayed on an existing countertop surface material such as formica, tile, cement board, or wood to create a concrete countertop. It is applied in an easy one-step, mix-with-water formula that is fast setting and can be colored, stained, textured, and decorated with glass, aggregates, agates, and other materials. Tru Top Overlay is a very “tight” mix, so it will not leave voids or have long cure times. Tru Top Overlay can be applied as thin as 1/16” or as thick as 3/8”.

Tru Top Cast
|
Tru Top Cast – creates the beauty of a concrete countertop with a mix that is specially designed for poured cast-in-place or pre-cast applications. When casting in place, Tru Top Cast is placed upon a base plate that remains in place as part of the countertop. When pouring pre-cast, a melamine form is used and can be removed within 24 hours of pouring. Tru Top Cast is designed to be poured at between 1 ½” to 2” depths. It is mixed in an easy one-step, mix-with-water formula that is fast setting and can be colored, stained, and decorated with glass, aggregates, agates, and other materials.

Architectural Enhancements’ Integral Color for concrete is a powder-based, iron oxide pigment that remains the preferred form of admixture for integrally coloring concrete. It is lighter weight, lower cost, and provides greater concentration for better tinting strength. It can be used for ready mix textured concrete, pre-cast, cast-in-place, architectural concrete blocks, pavers, and tilt-up concrete. It is also used in cementitious overlays and meets ASTM standard C979. Architectural Enhancements’ Concrete Mix Colors are available in 46 of the most popular shades available in powder form. Custom Integral Colors can be produced as needed.

Acid staining concrete will produce beautiful, unique coloring to any concrete surface. Architectural Enhancements’ Acid Stains work by penetrating the surface and reacting chemically in the concrete. The acid lightly etches the surface, allowing the stain to penetrate more easily. These concrete stains are translucent and the color they provide will vary depending upon the condition of the substrate. They can be used to achieve rich and varied earth-tones that resemble natural stone, marble, leather, or even wood. This product is perfect for giving a unique character and custom look to concrete floors, walls, patios, walkways, driveways, pool decks, and balconies.

Architectural Enhancements’ Color Concrete Hardener comes in powder form, and is an excellent way of coloring AND strengthening concrete flatwork - it creates a more intense color than integral color, is cost effective as it colors only the top 1/8” of the surface, and creates a stronger and more resilient surface. Architectural Enhancements’ Color Hardener is a blend of iron oxide pigments mixed with cement and silica sand, and should be applied using a dry shake method.
Architectural Enhancements’ Color Concrete Hardener is available in 19 beautiful colors that come in 5-gallon, moisture resistant buckets with an estimated coverage range of 100–120 sq. ft. depending upon the amount used to attain the desired color. It is well suited for use with stamps and texture mats, and can be easily troweled or broomed in. Architectural Enhancements’ Color Hardener can be used alone or with an Architectural Enhancements’ Release Agents.

Architectural Enhancements’ Color Release is designed to allow texturing tools to produce, clear, crisp, and sharp impressions to create the perfect look of brick, natural stone, or tile. It breaks the bond with concrete or overlays and allows for easy removal of stamping mats, textured rollers, and texture skins. It prevents the texture tool from sticking and enhances the pattern delivered to the surface while prolonging the life of the texture tools. For creative projects, a variety of release colors that contrast with the shade of Color Hardener are used as a way to add detail enhancing colors to a flatwork project.

Among the most vibrant of concrete colorants are the metallics. These colorants are specially formulated mica powders that create a look that is unique and intriguing. Architectural Enhancements has specially formulated metallic colorants called Tru Shimmer™. Tru Shimmer is applied to a concrete surface through mixing into Architectural Enhancements’ Epoxy Coatings or Architectural Enhancements’ Sealers. This specially-formulated metallic mica produces a stunning “shimmer” that takes decorative concrete coloring to a whole new level and is most commonly used over Tru Top, Architectural Enhancements’ award-winning Countertop mix.

Architectural Enhancements offers a line of Epoxy Coating Colorants that are designed for use with Architectural Enhancements’ Epoxy. They come in quart containers in 12 popular colors that can be mixed with epoxy coatings as stand-alone colors or can be used as the background for metallic colorants such as Tru Shimmer that comes in Bronze, Copper, Pearl, Silver, and Gold colors.
Epoxy Coating Colorant comes in Black, Granite Grey, Oxford Grey, Silver Grey, Titanium White, Hanger White, Ivory, Sand Beige, Safety Yellow, Forest Green, Mediterranean Blue, and Tile Red.

Architectural Enhancements’ Acrylic Concrete Sealers are among the most popular sealers used on concrete and overlays because they are easy to apply and very economical. They form a protective coating over concrete that is UV resistant and non-yellowing. They also provide protection from water and chloride intrusion, which can break down concrete over time. Architectural Enhancements’ Acrylic Concrete Sealers are available in both solvent and water-based formulations.

Urethanes are another film-forming sealer for use over concrete. As far as providing a coating over decorative concrete, Urethane sealers are thicker than acrylic sealers and provide excellent resistance to wear, abrasion, and chemicals.

Epoxies produce a very hard, wear and abrasion resistant coating for concrete and concrete overlays. And they are among the high performance products in the decorative concrete industry as they bond extremely well to concrete and decorative concrete overlays, they are 100% solids coatings, and are food safe for use on countertops.
Tru SunGuard – is a hard, long-wearing epoxy coating that has U.V. resistant characteristics along with high flexibility to provide self-healing from abrasion. Tru SunGuard is available in a clear base that can be pigmented with Epoxy Colorants and Metallic Colorants, if desired, to meet the need of any epoxy flooring project.
Tru Industrial –is one of the hardest epoxy coatings available and is popular for holding up to the most rigorous industrial epoxy flooring applications where forklift traffic, heavy machinery, or other heavy traffic occurs. Tru Industrial epoxy coating comes in a clear base that can be pigmented with Epoxy Coating Colorants and Metallic Colorants, if desired, to meet the need of any project. Tru Industrial is often used in airline hangars and other commercial buildings.

Concrete Cleaners & Prep Agents

Architectural Enhancements’ Cleaners and Prep Agents include high performance etchers, degreasers, and strippers that are used to prepare the substrate for beautifying – whether it is to be resurfaced or simply stained and sealed.
- Tru Pro Degreaser and Cleaner is a water-based, non-flammable degreaser and cleaner for use on both interior and exterior concrete surfaces. Tru Pro can be rinsed away with water.
- Tru Gon Glue and Mastic Remover is a water-based, non-flammable glue and mastic remover for softening and removal of carpet adhesives and similar glue deposits. For both interior and exterior use, Tru Gon can be rinsed away with water.
- Tru Peel Coating Remover is a water-based, non-flammable coating remover for use on concrete floors or paving blocks to safely remove acrylic sealers.
- Tru Blue Cleaner and Renovator is a penetrating concrete cleaner and renovator that quickly dissolves lime deposits, scale, rust, mortar, algae, and mud stains from concrete. Tru Blue can be used in both interior and exterior applications.
- Tru Strip Coating Remover is an emulsifyable coating remover for use on substrates such as concrete floors and paving blocks to quickly remove sealers. Tru Strip can be used in both interior and exterior applications.
- Tru Dissolve De-Bonding Agent reverses the molecular bonding of cement, turning it back into a loose mix of sand and aggregate. Tru Dissolve is ideal for cleaning tools that have concrete build-up.
