          1.4SUBMITTALS
 
          A.Submit under provisions of Section 01300.
 
          B.Product Data: Manufacturer's data sheets on each product to be used, including:
          1.Preparation instructions and recommendations.
          2.Storage and handling requirements and recommendations.
          3.Installation methods.
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Delete if shop drawings are not required for formwork.
 
          C.Shop Drawings: Submit manufacturer's shop drawings, indicating locations and dimensions of embedded items.
 
          1.5DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING
 
          A.Delivery: Deliver materials to site in manufacturers original, unopened containers and packaging, with labels clearly identifying product name and manufacturer.
 
          B.Storage:
          1.Store concrete forms in accordance with manufacturer's requirements.
          2.Store concrete forms vertically, on end. If stored horizontally, tubes shall be level, supported their full length, and not less than 4 inches (101 mm) off the ground.
          3.Store concrete forms in clean, dry area, under cover, and protected from heat and moisture..
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Prolonged storage of Poli-NewForm tubes in direct sunlight will result in damage to the liner and loss of shape to the tube. Retain the following paragraph if specifying Poli-NewForm.
          4.Protect Poli-NewForm concrete forms from exposure to direct sunlight..
          5.Do not dent, scratch, or damage interior.
          6.Do not drop forms.
 
          C.Handling: Protect forms during handling and installation to prevent damage.
 
          1.6WARRANTY
 
          A.Manufacturer's standard limited warranty against material and manufacturing defects.

          2.1MANUFACTURERS

          2.2CYLINDRICAL CONCRETE FORMS
 
          A.Concrete Forms: Paperboard tubes of spiral construction, fabricated for easy removal; NewForm or Poli-NewForm manufactured by The Newark Group, and as follows:
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Standardwall tubes (standard wall thickness) are recommended for pours up to 12 feet (3.66 m) in height; Heavywall tubes (greater wall thickness) are recommended for pours up to 45 feet (13.72 m) in height.
** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Specify inside diameter of forms. Forms are generally available in IDs of 6 inches (152 mm) to 60 inches (1524 mm). Contact a representative of the manufacturer for specific applications and appropriate product..
          1.Tube Wall Thickness and Lengths: Typically varying from 12 feet (3.66 m) and 20 feet (6.10 m) lengths and a range of 0.125 inch (3.175 mm) to 0.275 inch (6.985 mm) wall thickness as required.
          2.Outer Tube Coating: Moisture and weather-resistant.
          3.Inner Tube Surface: Appropriate for required concrete finish and application, and as follows:
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Poli-NewForm with poly-lining appropriate for smooth surface finish applications. Non-strip finish appropriate for in-ground columns.
          a.Strippable treatment not requiring release agents.
          b.Polystyrene liner.
          c.Non-strip inner tube finish.
          4.Use: One-piece and one-time use.
 
          PART 3EXECUTION
 
          3.1EXAMINATION
 
          A.Examine locations to receive column forms. Notify Architect if locations are not acceptable. Do not begin erection until unacceptable conditions have been corrected.
 
          3.2INSTALLATION
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Standardwall tubes are recommended for pours up to 12 feet (3.66 m) in height; Heavywall tubes are recommended for pours up to 45 feet (13.72 m) in height.
 
          A.Select concrete form appropriate for height and diameter of finish column, in accordance with manufacturer's instructions.
 
          B.Remove dirt and debris before placing concrete form over steel reinforcing bars and before placing concrete.
 
          C.Erect concrete form in accordance with ACI 301 and to support loads during construction.
 
          D.Erect column forms at locations and to elevation as indicated on the Drawings/
 
          E.Erect column forms plumb.
 
          F.Avoid damaging interior surface of forms.
 
          G.Waterproof and reinforce openings cut into forms.
 
          H.Do not use forms that are out-of-round, deformed, or contain defects that could impair concrete surface.
 
          I.Protect forms from rain and snow if work is delayed and forms have been positioned for placing concrete.
 
          J.Place waterproof sheeting over top of forms to prevent damage to interior surface by rain or snow.
 
          K.Do not allow forms to stand in water or snow before placing concrete.
 
          3.3PLACING CONCRETE
 
          A.Place concrete as specified in Section 3300, unless otherwise specified in this section.
 
          B.Do not place concrete if column forms are wet.
 
          C.Place concrete at pour rate in accordance with manufacturer's instructions.
 
          D.Do not touch interior surface of forms with vibrator.
 
          E.Do not vibrate concrete from exterior of forms.
 
          3.4REMOVAL
 
          A.Strip forms in accordance with manufacturer's recommendations, including the following.
          1.Remove forms as soon as removal will not damage concrete, a minimum of 24 hours and a maximum of 5 days after placing concrete unless longer curing time is required.
          2.Use portable electric saw set to depth of form thickness to cut forms for removal.
          3.Make two or three evenly spaced cuts with portable saw before stripping forms.
          4.Prevent damage to concrete from form removal.
 
          3.5PROTECTION
 
          A.Protect concrete forms until completion of concrete cure.
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Delete protection for concrete columns if not required.
 
          B.Protect concrete columns during remaining construction by placing form halves loosely around columns and securing.
