          1.4DESIGN / PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS
 
          A.Structural Performance: Design, engineer, fabricate, and erect systems to withstand specified design loads within limits and under conditions required.
          1.Design Loads including Dead Load and Live Load: As required by code and as indicated on the Drawings.
 
          B.Comply with all applicable trade standards including basic engineering standards, welding standards and steel construction standards.
 
          1.5SUBMITTALS
 
          A.Submit under provisions of Section 01300.
 
          B.Product Data: Manufacturer's data sheets on each product to be used, including:
          1.Preparation instructions and recommendations.
          2.Storage and handling requirements and recommendations.
          3.Installation methods.
 
          C.Shop Drawings: Include plans, elevations and detail sections of typical stage equipment systems and elements, estimated building loads imposed by the furnished equipment, anchor and fastening details, miscellaneous equipment details and any additional information required to evaluate the completeness and correctness of the pit filler systems.
 
          D.Structural Calculations: Submit structural calculations prepared by manufacturer for approval. Submittal shall be sealed by a professional engineer registered in the state of the project.

Installer must maintain a fully equipped field service organization capable of providing prompt inspection, service and repairs of the installed system.
 
          C.Pre-installation Meetings: Conduct pre-installation meeting to verify project requirements, substrate conditions, and manufacturer's installation instructions.
 
          D.Welding Standards: Comply with applicable provisions of AWS D1.1 "Structural Welding CodeSteel" and AWS D1.3 "Structural Welding CodeSheet Steel."

          1.7DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING
 
          A.Store products in manufacturer's unopened packaging until ready for installation.

          A.Ensure that locating templates and other information required for installation of products of this section are furnished to affected trades in time to prevent interruption of construction progress.

          2.3SUPPORT SYSTEMS
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Modular one piece quick changeover stage supports are used with All Purpose Deck Panels for events requiring an elevated performance space. Modular design allows for quick and easy set-up with many different configurations. Select if required and delete if not required.
 
          A.Support System: ME-500 Support System, shall be one piece, with no loose parts and be operable without tools. System is capable of bridging alternating sections of staging (both front-to-back and side-to-side) with decks that suspend, or bridge, between support assemblies and self-align with no separate clamping or connecting processes.
          1.Support members fabricated from structural extruded aluminum tubing and hot rolled electric welded steel tubing. Cross braces telescope using self-locking stops to fold to storage position. Provided with bushings of ultra high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMW-PE) to prevent metal-to-metal contact between inner and outer columns. Support assembly braces and columns finished with a baked-on black paint.
          2.Retractable locator assembly bodies fabricated of 6061-T6 aluminum extrusion. Height shall be adjustable in increments of 2 inches (51 mm) without tools.
          3.Provide with a screw foot at the base of each column with an additional 5 inch (127 mm) range of fine-adjustment leveling. Each screw foot shall have a diameter of no less than 3/4 inch (19 mm) and have Acme threads. Bottom of the foot shall be molded urethane no less than 3 inches (76 mm) in diameter.
          4.Supports shall fold compactly and stack securely on each other without straps or bins.
          5.Conical Locator Nodes: Provided with interchangeable high-strength nylon locator nodes with a 1 inch (25 mm) base diameter. Center node is permanently mounted to the inner leg. Locator nodes are mounted on retractable locator assemblies and available to guide one, two, three or four deck(s) into location and proper alignment and fastening them in place without tools, clamps or clips.

          1.Vertical columns shall be 2-1/2 inch (64 mm) IPS aluminum pipe.
          2.Telescopic inner legs shall be 2 inch (51 mm) IPS aluminum pipe.
          3.Horizontal and diagonal braces shall be 2 inch (51 mm) OD, aluminum hollow bar. Horizontal and diagonal braces shall attach to frame by self-locking hooks that encircle nearly 70 percent of tube and require manual release.
          4.Retractable locator assembly bodies shall be made of 6061-T6 aluminum extrusion. Height shall be adjustable in increments of 2 inches (51 mm) without tools.
          5.Provide with a screw foot at the base of each column with an additional 5 inch (127 mm) range of fine-adjustment leveling.           C.Rolling Stage: Model ME-3750 Rolling Stage System. Each rolling support system unit shall unfold to an 8 feet (2.4 m) by 12 feet (3.65 m) platform size holding three 4 foot by 8 foot (1219 mm by 2438 mm) decks. Units can bridge decks front to front and side to side providing additional flexibility. Each unit folds and stores with or without deck.
          1.Support members fabricated from structural extruded aluminum tubing and from hot-rolled electric-welded steel tubing. Braces and columns finished with a black baked-on powder-coated finish.
          2.Retractable locator assembly bodies shall be made of 6061-T6 aluminum extrusion. Height shall be adjustable in increments of 2 inches (51 mm) without tools. Adjustments shall be executed from a standing position by raising or lowering the support's inner column. Required lift shall not exceed five pounds.
          3.Provide with a screw foot at the base of each column with an additional 5 inch (127 mm) range of fine-adjustment leveling. Each screw foot shall have a diameter of no less than 3/4 inch (19 mm) and have Acme threads. Bottom of the foot shall be molded urethane no less than 2-7/8 inches (73 mm) in diameter.
          4.System shall roll on eight 6 inch by 2 inch (152 mm by 51 mm) phenolic swivel casters.
          5.Locator Nodes: Provided with interchangeable high-strength nylon locator nodes with a 1 inch (25 mm) base diameter. Locator nodes are mounted on retractable locator assemblies and available to guide one, two, three or four deck(s) into location and proper alignment and fastening them in place without tools, clamps or clips.
          6.Nylon Bushings are provided to facilitate smooth, easy setup and tear-down and prolong the life of the support by eliminating metal-on-metal wear.
          7.Performance: System capable of supporting a uniformly distributed live-load of 4000 pounds per 4 foot by 8 foot (1219 mm by 2438 mm) section or 125 pounds per square foot (610 k/sm).
          8.Rolling support system shall be 8 feet (2.4 m) by 12 feet (3.65 m) holding three 4 foot by 8 foot (1219 mm by 2438 mm) Decks.

          D.Heavy Duty Support System: Model Z-800HD Heavy Duty Support System. Supports unfold in "Z" shape to accept decks and locator plates. Supports fold compactly for storage without tools.
          1.Braces fabricated with 1 (25 mm) square or 1 inch by 2 inch (51 mm) rectangular steel. Legs shall be 2 inch (51 mm) OD steel tube. A screw foot at the base of each leg shall provide a 2-1/2 inch (64 mm) range of fine-adjustment leveling. Each screw foot shall have Acme threads and 2-1/4 inch (57 mm) diameter urethane pads.
          2.All steel components shall be finished with a black baked-on powder-coated finish (except zinc-plated hardware).
          3.On variable height-models, height shall adjust in increments of 2 inches (51 mm) without tools.

          3.1EXAMINATION
 
          A.Do not begin installation until conditions are appropriate and substrates have been properly prepared.
 
          B.Examine areas and conditions under which work is to be performed; identify conditions detrimental to proper or timely completion.
